Tilta’s new EVF Extension Kit for Sony FX5 is now available to pre-order, and you can save 10% up until the 23rd of October, 2026.
We first saw a sneak peek of the EVF Extension Kit at IBC 2026 last month in Amsterdam.
The new EVF Extension Kit for Sony FX5 features a dedicated extension cable, a multi-axis adjustable bracket, and integrated accessory mounting points.
It was designed so users can position the Sony DVF-EL1 Electronic Viewfinder in a variety of positions depending on whether you are shooting handheld, shoulder-mounted, or on a tripod.
There is a NATO Clamp design that allows you to mount the EVF Bracket quickly.
The bracket supports multi-axis adjustments, including horizontal, vertical, and rotational, and once set up, you have 4.13″ / 10.5cm of horizontal extension and 4.8″ / 12.3cm of vertical extension.
The EVF Extension Cable connects the Sony DVF-EL1 Electronic Viewfinder to the FX5, and it features a 13-core tinned-copper twisted-pair cable with reinforced PVC sheathing, which is claimed to provide long-term reliability.
The Extension Cable is 11.8″ / 30cm. On the camera EVF port end, an integrated NATO Rail is built in with a 3/8″-16 thread with locating points paired with a 1/4″-20 adapter, allowing for greater expansion possibilities for accessories such as mounting top handles, microphones, transmitters, etc. On the other end of the cable that attaches the EVF, there are extra 1/4″-20 threads with locating points and a 15mm rod holder available to mount to other accessories like articulating arms. You can use the EVF in a shoulder rig configuration by pairing this cable with Tilta’s Pro Articulating Arm to extend the EVF out sideways. Or use any 15mm rod holder attachments to attach 15mm rods to secure the EVF.
