Samyang AF 28-135mm F2.8 FE

Samyang is teasing its upcoming AF 28-135mm F2.8 FE lens for Sony E-mount that will be available in February next year.

They are touting the AF 28-135mm F2.8 FE as a good all-in-one solution for Sony shooters. 28-135mm with a constant F2.8 aperture provides a good range and a decent speed for a zoom.

The optical design of the lens consists of 20 elements in 16 groups and the minimum focussing distance at 28mm is 27cm / 0.88′. At 135mm it is 73cm / 2.39′.

The lens weighs 854g and it has a 82mm front filter diameter.

The AF 28-135mm F2.8 FE looks like it will be in direct competition with existing lenses such as the Tamron 35-150mm f/2-2.8 Di III VXD. It also would make for a faster, lighter and more compact solution that Sony’s FE PZ 28-135mm f/4 G OSS Full-Frame Power Zoom Lens.

There is no current indication of pricing, but Samyang lenses have traditionally been affordably priced.
