Adobe completes its acquisition of Topaz Labs

Adobe x Topaz

Adobe has completed its acquisition of Topaz Labs, which will bring AI enhancement capabilities to Adobe’s creative ecosystem.

Adobe entered into an agreement to acquire Topaz Labs, the company behind Topaz Video, Topaz Photo, and Gigapixel, back on June 25, 2026. The deal was pending regulatory approval and other customary closing conditions.

If you are not familiar with Topaz Labs, they are best known for their video and image enhancement apps that can restore video while preserving the integrity of the original footage.

Topaz Labs’ technology is available in Adobe Firefly and Photoshop to help users upscale and enhance their images and videos. Its proprietary Neurostream technology processes complex AI models on their own devices or Topaz Labs’ cloud-based option. It is useful when restoring archival footage or upscaling lower-resolution content.

Adobe states that by integrating Topaz Labs’ tools and models into Creative Cloud workflows, users will benefit from spending less time moving between tools. Adobe will also optimize the performance of Topaz Labs models.

The Topaz Labs brand will remain, and its apps and models will continue to be available as standalone products. Topaz Labs’ CEO Eric Yang will join Adobe’s Digital Video and Audio team.
