Antilatency FullBandRGB– a studio light designed specifically for virtual production

Antilatency has launched FullBandRGB, a studio light designed specifically for virtual production. The fixture combines a seven-LED spectral architecture with precise linear control, lightweight construction, integrated power, and daisy-chained power and data.

The light was designed to provide faster rigging and predictable, camera-oriented output while changing color temperature or matching a virtual scene. Paired with CyberGaffer, it can translate lighting changes from a virtual environment into coordinated changes across physical fixtures.

FullBandRGB utilizes seven types of LEDs to produce a claimed smooth, balanced spectral distribution while retaining simple RGB control. It was designed around camera sensor sensitivity to help reproduce colors faithfully and maintain consistent illumination as color temperature changes.

The fixture’s lightweight construction and integrated power module simplify rigging, while network control and daisy-chaining for both power and data support large studio installations.

The entire fixture, including its integrated power module, weighs just 3.6 kg. This low mass allows a single person to mount and reposition the light without any lifting equipment, reduces load on trusses, and enables placing more fixtures on the same rig.

FullBandRGB’s mathematically precise linear response and predictable output allow software to calculate and apply lighting changes consistently, providing a foundation for matching physical illumination to a virtual scene.

FullBandRGB is designed for computer-only control, ideal for studios where fixtures are installed on overhead trusses and physical access is limited. The light operates in stateless mode: every fixture is always in a known state defined by the network commands you send. FullBandRGB uses Art-Net with bidirectional communication, so you can always see the real-time status of every device: online/offline, applied commands, and control source. Art-Net also supports high refresh rates with update rates up to 1000 updates per second per fixture, enabling smooth transitions and real-time effects without DMX’s 44 fps update limit. This ensures reliable behavior during critical VP production moments.

Each FullBandRGB fixture includes a built-in gigabit Ethernet switch and powerCON in/out, enabling daisy-chaining for both data and power. This reduces cable clutter, eliminates external switches and PDUs, and makes setups cleaner and faster to install.

Mirror-based light shaping redirects output toward the subject to expand the effective emitting area and help control spill without increasing power consumption. The Flat mirror panels enable light shaping, concentrating the fixture’s output where it is needed and increasing forward light intensity by 1.27× without additional power consumption. Different mirror configurations enable precise light shaping for studios of different shapes and sizes.

Trapezoidal mirror panels form a reflective enclosure around the fixture, expanding the effective emitting area and concentrating more light into the working area. This increases light intensity up to 2.55x without additional power consumption while producing a larger, softer light source.

There is a dedicated quick-release mount for Antilatency SigmaFrame trusses (40×40 mm). The system enables fast installation without clamps, adapters, or additional rigging hardware. You can also get a Floor Stand Kit that combines two fixed support legs with an adjustable telescopic leg.

Paired with CyberGaffer, which reproduces virtual scene lighting in real space, FullBandRGB turns this precision into a practical production workflow. As lighting in virtual environments changes, the system can translate those changes into coordinated adjustments across the studio’s fixtures. This approach reduces the need to manually rebuild lighting setups for each virtual environment. This, in turn, shortens setup and iteration times and reduces the associated production costs.
