At IBC 2026 in Amsterdam, Viltrox was showing a prototype of its upcoming N1 Power Handle. The handle features a built-in 3500mAh battery.

Viltrox made the N1 because they received a lot of feedback that people don’t want to run a larger V-mount battery on small-sized cameras to power accessories.
The concept behind the N1 Power Handle was to allow users to power accessories from either the USB-C output (up to 35W) or the D-tap.
There is a power on/off switch for the handle and a battery indicator. While having an in-built battery certainly provides a convenient way of powering accessories, it isn’t replaceable, so if it runs out of power, you are stuck. It is also going to have a limited lifespan.

The current version can be mounted using a 1/4-20″ or 3/8″ screw, and there are locating pins. Viltrox told me that they will have a NATO rail version in the future.

On the top of the handle, there are multiple 1/4-20″ and 3/8″ threads with locating holes that you can use for attaching accessories.
Pricing & Availability
The Viltrox N1 Power Handle should be available by the end of the year for under $200 USD.
