Dream Chip Technologies launched the Atom Two HDR just ahead of IBC 2026, adding an HDR-focused model to its Atom Two miniature broadcast camera line. We spoke with Michael from Dream Chip on the show floor about what’s new.
What it is

The Atom Two HDR is the HDR variant of the Atom Two, a self-contained, global-shutter miniature broadcast camera aimed at positions conventional cameras can’t reach — motorsport, equestrian, stadium, and aerial POV work. It steps the line’s dynamic range up to 14-bit (from 12-bit on the standard Atom Two, Atom Two RP, and Atom Two CS models) with improved 16-bit internal processing, and it inherits the IP67 “Rainproof” housing from the Atom Two RP.

The global shutter sensor eliminates rolling-shutter distortion, which Dream Chip points to as the reason this class of camera works for high-speed action, car, horse, and bike racing were the examples Michael gave.

Lens and mount
The Atom Two HDR ships with a 4.2mm lens (85° FOV) but takes any S-Mount lens sized for the sensor, including fisheye and wide-angle options, so the field of view isn’t fixed to the stock lens.
Control and connectivity

Power and RS-485 control run through a Lemo connector. The camera is controlled via Dream Chip’s ProVideoGUI software, run through a converter from a PC, or through third-party remote control panels (RCPs) — CyanView is one Dream Chip already has documented integration with. Michael also said a new firmware update adds remote control from a Stream Deck, or from a transmitter for control at a distance, for adjusting settings without a hardwired PC connection. Settings are saved to the camera, so it’s designed to be a plug-in, configure-once, walk-away setup, with the option to reach back in and adjust remotely if something like exposure needs changing mid-shoot.
