Atomos has announced the Shinobi 7 II, a 7-inch, ultra-slim 2800nit HDR monitor with USB-C camera control.
The USB-C camera control allows users to adjust camera settings, including aperture, shutter speed/angle, ISO, and white balance directly from the monitor. Select compatible cameras also support touch-to-focus and shutter release for photography workflows.
The claimed 2800nit touchscreen means it should be very usable outdoors in bright conditions. If I am not mistaken, it isn’t the brightest 7″ monitor Atomos has made; the Shogun had a 3000nit screen.

The Shobi 7 II has an HDMI input and output supporting signals up to 4Kp30, alongside USB-C for camera control, power delivery, and display calibration. It can be powered via USB-C PD, Sony NP-F batteries, or an optional DC battery eliminator. Custom LUTs and firmware updates can be loaded via the integrated SD card slot. There is no SDI, which was something you got with the original Atomos Shinobi 7″ 4K HDMI/SDI Monitor.
The monitor supports Log, HLG, and PQ signals, and there is built-in 3D LUT support. The Shinobi 7 II includes all of the usual monitoring assist tools that you would find on other Atomos monitors, such as EL Zone, false color, waveform, vectorscope, focus peaking, zebras, RGB parade, anamorphic de-squeeze, multiview analysis, frame guides, and grid markers.
The monitor also supports on-device calibration using compatible calibration probes (sold separately).
Pricing & Availability
The Atomos Shinobi 7 II will be available in September 2026 for $499 USD / €499 (excluding local taxes). That makes it a very reasonably priced option if you are looking for a bright 7″ monitor with wired camera control.
