Libec Q30B/Q50B Lightweight, High-Load-Capacity Tripods with new Quick Deploy System

Libec

Libec has announced new Q30B/Q50B lightweight, high-load-capacity tripods that feature a new quick-deploy system. The tripods will be available sometime in October.

The Q30B is a 75mm ball-compatible tripod, while the Q50B is for 100mm ball heads. The tripods were specifically designed for run-and-gun and fast shooting environments such as ENG and documentaries.

Both models support a maximum load capacity of 45kg / 99.21 lb. The Q30B weighs 2.9kg / 6.39 lbs, and the Q50B weighs 3.0kg / 6.61 lbs.

The new, patent-pending Quick Deploy System works by holding the standard carrying handle with one hand and moving the Deploy Ring in the center of the spreader up or down with the other hand. This allows users to open or close the spreader and unlock the upper pipe.

According to Libec, the tripods were field-tested for more than a year in various environments. Libec claims that it reinforced parts prone to breakage and utilized a dust-proof design to prevent sand and dust from affecting the locking mechanism.

Both models come standard with foot pads and a mid-spreader. If additional height is required, the three lower pipes, which feature screw-lock mechanisms, can be extended in advance.

Each tripod has two sets of 1/4-inch and 3/8-inch accessory ports, allowing for the attachment of accessories such as monitors and lights. The tripods can be used with compatible third-party video heads, or Libec’s NH40” (for the Q30B) and LX10 Head (for the Q50B).

Pricing & Availability

The Libec Q30B will cost 95,700 yen, and the Q50B will be 132,000 yen.
