Viltrox has announced the DC-T1 5-Inch FHD Phone Monitor. Now, you may be asking why you would need a 5″ monitor for a phone that already has alarger scren already? Well, the DC-T1 was basically designed for Vloggers or people filming themselves who need to use the front-facing cameras, but still want to be able to see themselves and control shooting parameters.

The DC-T1 features a 5-inch IPS screen with 1920 × 1080 resolution, but a brightness of just 400nits.
Users can control focus, exposure, and shooting modes directly from the monitor without needing to reach around the phone.
The DC-T1 connects directly to your phone via a USB-C cable connection. As it is a cabled connection, Viltrox claims that it provides smooth, low-latency video transmission without the lag, interference, or disconnection risks of wireless monitoring.
The DC-T1 supports vertical flip and mirror display. If you are filming yourself, livestreaming, or working from an inverted rig, the image can remain correctly oriented, which is handy.
Users can switch between four display orientations with flip and mirror options. There is also a built-in false color mode that makes exposure levels easier to evaluate.
Along with USB-C audio support, there is a cold shoe mount, a 1/4-inch thread, and an ARRI locating interface that make it easy to add microphones, lights, tripods, cages, etc.
The DC-T1 weighs in at 112g / 3.95 oz. From what I can ascertain, it doesn’t seem to feature any type of built-in battery. There is a USB-C power input on the monitor. You can power your phone from the monitor, but the monitor would need to be attached to a power bank, etc.
You can mount the monitor in a few different ways. It also comes with an adjustable attachment for mounting to your phone.
