KIPON B4-FF 4.2x optic expanders allow you to use B4 broadcasting lenses on full-frame digital cinema cameras; however, the caveat is that you lose 4 stops of light.
The image will be enlarged by 4.2x up to 47.06mm. The optics are claimed to correct the color shift of 2/3″ lenses, which was originally needed for the 2/3″ 3-Chip CCD sensor.
KIPON has four options available:
- B4-Sony E FF Fullframe Expander $3,680 USD
- B4-Canon EOS R RF FF Full-frame Expander $3,680 USD
- B4-Leica L FF Full-frame Expander $3,680 USD
- B4>PL FF Full–frame Expander $3,680 USD
Full-frame digital cinema cameras have become increasingly popular for use in higher-end broadcast applications. However, due to the limited focal length, heavy size, and high price of PL-mount cine lenses, there are limited options to choose from. If you are a broadcaster or a big production company, you can afford the more expensive lenses, but for productions with budget limitations, this could be a good solution.
The KIPON B4-FF 4.2x optic expanders are a more affordable alternative solution that allows you to use B4 2/3″ zoom lenses on full-frame sensor cameras for EFP (Electronic Field Production).
