Pomfort’s Livegrade 7.2 now supports RED in-camera grading via CDL, along with RED metadata readout over Ethernet, giving DITs an even more efficient way to manage looks on set.

Users can connect Livegrade directly to the latest DSMC3 RED cameras via Ethernet, enabling interactive CDL and saturation adjustments applied in-camera. The graded image is available on all of the camera’s SDI outputs, including the electronic viewfinder and the on-board LCD. The adjusted look files are stored as separate metadata alongside each recording, directly available for dailies creation for faster turnarounds.
The Ethernet connection also provides direct access to the camera’s metadata. This benefits all Livegrade workflows, including traditional LUT box setups: Livegrade can retrieve a comprehensive set of camera metadata, independently of the embedded metadata in SDI feeds or frame grabs.
