The PolarPro Split 50 Filter is, as its name suggests, a split diopter filter designed to create two focus planes within a single frame. One half of the filter magnifies and reduces focal length, while the other remains unaffected.
Split diopter filters can be used to create unique compositions in camera. You can bring both the foreground and background into focus simultaneously, create bokeh effects, and split your compositions focus. You can rotate the filter to find the exact split that you want.
Split Diopters were used in films such as Citizen Kane, All the President’s Men, Reservoir Dogs, and The Untouchables.
