At NAB 2026 in Las Vegas, Laowa was showing its new Axon 45mm f/2.8 Ultra Macro 1–5x APO and Axon 17.5mm f/1.7 Ultra Macro 5–10x APO, which are claimed to be the World’s first parfocal super macro zoom lenses.

These are very impressive lenses, and they make shooting extreme macro shots a lot easier. They will be available in a range of different mounts, and Laowa told me that they will also have PL cine versions of these lenses.
Pricing & Availability
The Axon 45mm f/2.8 Ultra Macro 1–5x APO will retail for around $500 USD., and the cinehoused PL version will be around $1,500 USD.
The Axon 17.5mm f/1.7 Ultra Macro 5–10x APO will be slightly more expensive than the 45mm f/2.8 Ultra Macro 1–5x APO.
