Viviana Pebble– a completely new approach to on-body RF performance

For over 70 years, wireless transmitters have relied on whip antennas, but Raycom and Viviana have today changed that. The Viviana Pebble is a completely new approach to on-body RF performance, designed in the UK by Raycom.

Built using patented BodyWave technology, Pebble works with the body instead of against it. Rather than allowing RF energy to be absorbed, it redirects and guides the signal around the wearer, delivering stronger, more reliable performance in real-world conditions.

Standard whip antennas suffer from two main issues: the body absorbs RF energy (reducing efficiency by about 10 dB), and the body physically blocks the signal when it is between the transmitter and receiver (another 10 dB loss).

To counteract these issues, the Pebble uses the body as a waveguide, redirecting the radio signal around the wearer to prevent absorption and blocking.

In a real-world test, the range increased from 51 meters with a standard whip to 122 meters using the Viviana Pebble. That is a massive improvement.

The Viviana Pebble connects via an SMA cable and can be mounted in various locations (like a strap pouch, sock, or pocket). Crucially, the back part of the Pebble must always face the body to function correctly.
