Sony’s CFexpress Type A/B and SD memory cards are no longer available to buy. Due to the global shortage of semiconductors, Sony Japan has issued a suspension of orders on a wide range of its memory cards.
What this means is that Sony won’t be sending out any memory cards to distributors or retailers until further notice.
Sony Marketing Inc. Notice and Apology Regarding the Temporary Suspension of Orders for Digital Imaging Products
Dear Customers,
Thank you very much for your continued support of Sony products. Due to the global shortage of semiconductors (memory chips) and other factors, we anticipate that the situation where supply cannot meet demand will continue. Consequently, we have decided to temporarily suspend the acceptance of orders from authorised dealers to our company, as well as orders from customers via the Sony Store, with effect from 27 March 2026.
We will monitor the supply situation to determine when to resume accepting orders and will provide further details on the product information page at a later date.
We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused to our customers.
