Distance calculations now take lamp height into account – perfect for real-world setups like lights rigged on cherry pickers, cranes, or elevated positions.
This was released on February 23rd, 2026, and is available to all users.
Custom user fixtures

Add your own lighting fixtures and modifiers to LightCalc, which allows you to build your personal gear library and work with the exact equipment you use on set.
This was released on February 17th, 2026, and is available for Plus+ users.
Project sharing

You can now share your saved lighting setups via a read-only link with anyone, even if they don’t have a LightCalc account.
This was released on February 20th, 2026, and is available to all users.

Visual Scene Editor

The team is working on a new visual way to build lighting setups, which will allow you to place lights, subjects, and distances directly in a scene.
This will be released soon for Plus+ users .
Multiple keylight fixtures

This will allow you to use different fixtures simultaneously as key lights within a single setup.
The release date is tbd and it will only be available for Plus+ users.
