Tamron 35-100mm f/2.8 Di III VXD

Tamron has announced its new 35-100mm f/2.8 Di III VXD full-frame zoom lens that is available in Sony E and Nikon Z mounts.

The 35-100mm f/2.8 Di III VXD is very similar to Tamron’s existing 35-150mm f/2-2.8 Di III VXD zoom, but it limits the focal range to cover four popular prime focal lengths: 35mm, 50mm, 85mm, and 100mm. It is also around half the cost of the 35-150mm f/2-2.8 Di III VXD.

The optical construction of the lens consists of 15 Elements in 13 Groups with 9 aperture blades.

The VXD (Voice-coil eXtreme-torque Drive) autofocus system is claimed to provide quick, quiet, and precise autofocus to suit both stills and video applications.

The lens features a connector port that works in conjunction with Tamron Lens Utility software for customizing lens functions and updating firmware through the lens rather than through the camera.
