UK-based Optical Support is teasing its new Magic Shot Box, which allows real-time FIZ metadata capture with support for SONY and ARRI in-camera RAW recording, direct transfer of Preston lens maps, integrated camera control, and on-board SD card recording.
The magic shot box is a small-format metadata FIZ capture that has extensive support for Sony and ARRI camera RAW recording. It has integrated direct data transfer from Preston lens maps, and it can work with any lens from vintage to modern.
Alongside the FIZ metadata tracking, it of course tracks timecode, either from a camera or from a timecode generator like the Tentacle.
A completely bespoke and easy to use APP system allows you to wirelessly control the box, see data, edit/transfer data, and access camera controls.
The box itself also has an onboard GUI and touchscreen that is very responsive and easy to use.
The main beauty of the product is its customizability, particularly for longer jobs, as Optical Support has developed it all, which means they have the ability to add new features and attempt to meet bespoke requirements for individual productions.
There will also be more features coming soon. To find out more, you can contact [email protected] for more information.
