Sennheiser 2026 Sneak Peek

Spectera is the world’s first wideband bidirectional wireless ecosystem from Sennheiser. In the above video, you can watch a behind-the-scenes look at Sennheiser headquarters for a look at what’s coming in 2026:

  • SKM Handheld Transmitter with full remote control and optional Command Adapter
  • ZMAN Base Station for broadcast environments with ST 2110-30 and AES67 compatibility
  • Engineer Mode to monitor up to 16 IEM mixes right on the SEK bodypack
  • Command functionality for SEK via a command adapter

Of most interest to our readers is probably the upcoming SKM handheld transmitter. Like all components in the Spectera ecosystem, its bidirectional design allows for full remote control of all parameters. It is compatible with Sennheiser and Neumann capsules to deliver what is claimed to be the best sound quality available.

It is built with a robust yet lightweight aluminum housing and an easy-to-read OLED display. The handheld will be available with an optional command adapter that quickly screws on.

The Sennheiser Spectera wireless audio system started shipping back in April.

Spectera is the world’s first bidirectional, wideband digital wireless ecosystem. Powered by WMAS technology, Spectera combines cutting-edge hardware and advanced software tools to deliver what Sennheiser claims is unmatched flexibility, reliability, and control.

By putting the power of a multichannel system into a single 1U rack unit, and accommodating wireless mics, IEMs, and control data in the very same RF channel and a single bodypack, the bidirectional solution offers ease of use for both RF managers and the entire audio team. The hardware includes the Base Station, the bidirectional SEK bodypack, in versions for the TV-UHF and 1.4 GHz bands, the DAD transceiving antennas (also in TV-UHF and 1.4 GHz versions), MADI cards, and various accessories. The software for the ecosystem includes the LinkDesk software and the browser-based Spectera WebUI.
