The Middle Things APC-R Mini Lite can transform your gimbal into a fully controllable PTZ head over the network through Ethernet.

The APC-R Mini Lite essentially does exactly the same as the previously announced APC-R Mini, with the exception that it requires a wired LAN connection instead of being wireless. It is being targeted as a more cost-effective solution than its big brother.

The APC-R Mini Lite enables you to combine your favorite gimbals into a high-quality, affordable remote camera, fitting into your live production workflow. It serves as an alternative to all-in-one PTZ heads, offering the advantage of larger sensors and custom lenses.

With the Middle Control Mac OS desktop software, you can map any USB Gaming joystick axes and buttons to gimbal actions such as Pan / Tilt / Roll / Speed or Zoom motor. Or you can use the professional dedicated Middle Remote controller. This allows you to turn your existing camera setup into a high-quality PTZ head at an affordable price.
Middle Things has packed all the features of the APC-R into the APC-R Mini; however, there are some key differences.
The APC-R Mini merges the APC-R, APC-R Gimbal Adapter and Middle Tally in a single lightweight and compact product. As opposed to the APC-R, the APC-R Mini can be mounted directly on the DJI RS gimbal. This means fewer cables and a cleaner workflow for live production shoots.
The APC-R Mini features a built-in tally light. Its brightness can be adjusted within the Middle Control app, which can itself be connected to your favorite ATEM Switcher. Note: this feature is not available with the APC-R Mini Lite.
The APC-R Mini features a new USB-C connector instead of the older Micro USB port that is found on the APC-R. It can be used to adjust the internal settings (IP address, Wifi SSDI & Password..)and update the firmware. If you are not using the APC-R Mini with a gimbal, but as a wireless controller, you can power the APC-R Mini with this USB-C port too.
While the Bluetooth and Wifi features of the APC-R have been kept in the APC-R Mini, the design has been switched from metal to plastic, allowing for built-in Wifi & Bluetooth antennas and a smaller form factor. Note: Wi-Fi and Bluetooth functionality are not included with the APC-R Mini Lite.
