Cooke has officially launched its new Panchro 65/i, which they claim brings the timeless Panchro look to large-format cinematography. They are said to have gentle focus fall-off and controlled imperfections with exceptional skin tone rendering.

The lenses are designed to cover 65mm+ sensors, so you will be able to shoot open gate on the ARRI Alexa 265, Blackmagic URSA Cine 17K 65, and FUJIFILM Eterna 55.

The Panchro 65/i delivers full coverage of a 59.86mm image circle, ensuring outstanding illumination and minimal shading across the frame even on the largest sensors.
There will be 6 focal lengths available, ranging from 30mm to 152mm (152mm coming Spring 2026). They are only available in LPL mount.
The Panchro 65/i comes in LPL mount, and the T-stops range from T2.5 to T2.9, depending on the focal length. They feature dual focus scales and have been matched to the Panchro/i Classic and SP3 series.
The lenses are relatively lightweight for primes that cover 65mm image circles. They weigh in at 1.8-2.3kg per lens. Every Panchro 65/i lens is protected with a scratch-resistant coating. They also have Dual Focus scales – Imperial and Metric, scales marked from infinity to MOD.

The lenses have Cooke’s /i intelligent lens technology, which provides comprehensive metadata for integration with modern digital workflows and VFX pipelines. Live data encompasses focus distance, focal length, and aperture settings.
Panchro ecosystem

It is interesting to see that the Cooke Panchro ecosystem now spans every format and budget. Users can go from the more affordable SP3 up to the Panchro 65/i, depending on their needs or requirements.
