Anton/Bauer has announced a new 98Wh BP-U Battery. Believe it or not, this is the company’s first 14V BP-U battery. BP-U batteries are still widely used in the industry, especially with cameras like the Sony FX6, Sony FX9, and Sony PXW-Z280, which have been integrated into ENG environments.
The Anton/Bauer BP-U battery will also work with the Blackmagic PYXIS 6K, and it can also be used to power the Litepanels Astra IP fixtures and other 14V production equipment.

The new battery features a 98Wh capacity and delivers 6.8A of continuous output through multiple power ports, which include USB-C PD, USB-A, and D-Tap. The USB-C PD is on top of the battery and delivers 60W output at 5V, 9V, 12V, 15V, and 20V. 60W is quite a lot higher than the 45W output found on most other similar batteries.
The battery can be recharged through USB-C PD at up to 45W, reaching full charge in approximately 2 hours and 40 minutes when used with Anton/Bauer’s USB-C PD charger. The battery is claimed to retain approximately 65% capacity even after 2,000 cycles.

The Anton/Bauer 14V 98Wh BP-U battery and matching USB-C PD charger will be available in late September for £175.
