Astera used IBC 2026 to introduce QuikBeam Connect, the first product in a new “Connect Series” aimed at permanent installations rather than event or production work. It’s built around a housing — the TracklightAdapter — that lets an existing QuikBeam spotlight drop into standard track lighting systems found in bars, cafes, studios, and venues. We talked to Astera’s Sebastian about how it works.
What it is
The TracklightAdapter is a housing that mounts around a QuikBeam fixture and wires it into a track’s AC supply directly, so the battery isn’t needed for stationary use and there are no visible power cables. According to Astera, customers had been asking for a non-battery, permanently-installed version of QuikBeam for a while, which is what prompted the Connect Series. Sebastian said the swap takes a few minutes — the QuikBeam housing has to be opened with a few screws, but nothing beyond what any installer could handle.
Because it uses standard track formats, a venue isn’t locked into whatever fixture happened to ship with its track lighting. Sebastian’s pitch: if a location already has track lighting that isn’t color-accurate or controllable enough for a shoot, a DP or LD can pull the existing heads and drop in QuikBeam Connect units instead, then swap back when the job’s done.

Why it exists
Ben Díaz, Astera’s Head of Product Management, said the company had been asked to build a non-battery luminaire for a while, and QuikBeam Connect is the answer — the same color mixing and control options as the standard QuikBeam, without the battery or cabling a permanent install doesn’t need. Because both track standards are open, not proprietary, a venue can mix Connect fixtures into an existing track run without a full rewiring job, and pull them back out again just as easily.
Price & availability
Astera hasn’t published official Connect Series pricing. At the booth, Sebastian quoted roughly €500 for “the unit,” available either as the adapter alone (for existing QuikBeam owners) or as adapter-plus-light — it wasn’t clear from the conversation which configuration that price covers, so treat it as a ballpark until Astera confirms official U.S. pricing. Demo units are already with Astera’s distributors, and shipping is expected to begin in about a month.
