Insta360 has announced the Luna Pro gimbal camera that was co-engineered with Leica. The Luna Pro can record native 4K vertical video, allowing it to capture high-quality content for short-form social media platforms. It also features AI-powered tracking, intuitive controls, and streamlined editing.
The Luna Pro utilizes a 20mm (35mm equivalent focal length) F1.8 Leica Summicron lens, a 1-inch 8K sensor, 8K Dolby Vision video, 10-bit I-Log, and built-in timecode. The Leica Summicron lens and 1-inch 8K sensor are claimed to offer detailed images and strong low-light performance.
The camera features a dual AI Chip architecture that combines a dedicated imaging chip with a 4nm chip.
The Luna Pro supports native 4K 30fps vertical video with 6K oversampling, and users can rotate the touchscreen to switch orientation and start shooting vertical content. It also records 8K Dolby Vision video, and it supports 4K 120fps and 1080p 240fps recording. There is the ability to record in H.265 10-bit I-Log at a maximum bitrate of 120Mbps with support for ACES workflows.

There is also a POV Head Tracker that opens up new possibilities for immersive first-person content, while NFC lets compatible phones connect to the Insta360 app.
