FUJIFILM has officially announced the new VF-GFXC2, a dedicated Electronic Viewfinder for the GFX ETERNA 55. The VF-GFXC2 is expected to be released by the end of 2026.
The VF-GFXC2 features a high resolution of 2048×1536 with a claimed peak brightness of 1000 nits. It also utilizes a native 4:3 OLED display panel, providing optimal display for GFX ETERNA 55 native 4:3 open gate sensor mode. FUJIFILM states that it also provides high contrast.
It is good to see FUJIFILM make an EVF. At least in my opinion, more companies should be making EVFs instead of trying to make users judge critical focus and exposure on small-sized built-in monitors.
The EVF has a large eyecup that helps block ambient light, improving the ability for users to work in bright ambient lighting conditions. FUJIFILM also claims that it was designed to provide optimum fit around the eye for comfortable viewing,
The body of the VF-GFXC2 features a simple cylindrical design with a machined aluminum exterior. FUJIFILM states that the design prioritizes operability, with function buttons positioned within easy reach of fingers for easy access. There is also a diopter adjustment dial.
Pricing & Availability
As I mentioned earlier, the VF-GFXC2 is expected to become available by the end of the year. There is no current indication about pricing.
