SmallRig has announced an accessory ecosystem for the Insta360 X6, designed to give users more versatility when shooting with the 360 camera.
The main product is the SmallRig Cage for Insta360 X6 (ID 6965), which features a lightweight full-metal design to provide protection while expanding the mounting capabilities.

- All-Around Protection: Full-metal construction protects the camera body, while the included silicone lens cap offers additional protection for the protruding lenses.
- Flip-Out Top Stand: Allows the camera to rest securely on a tabletop between shots while helping protect the lenses from scratches.
- Flexible Expansion: Features a magnetic quick-release interface, 1/4″-20 mounting points, and a cold shoe mount for accessories such as selfie sticks, tripods, microphones, and LED lights.
- Pogo Pin Accessory Support: Built-in pogo pin contacts support compatible accessories such as a charging handle or base without removing the cage.
- Wind Noise Reduction: Integrated foam helps reduce wind interference during high-speed riding and other windy conditions.
Paired with the included lens protector, it offers extra protection for the protruding panoramic lens during storage and transport, helping reduce the risk of scratches or accidental damage.
The cage also includes a flip-out top stand. This allows the camera to rest securely on a tabletop when not in use and helps prevent the lens from scratches. There is a magnetic quick-release mount and a 1/4″-20 threaded hole on the bottom support the use of a tripod or selfie stick and allow quick switching between horizontal and vertical shooting.
A cold shoe mount on the left side supports accessories such as a microphone or LED light, while a 1/4″-20 locating hole on the right side can be used with a selfie stick or magic arm.
The built-in pogo pin contacts on the bottom allow compatible accessories, such as a charging handle or base, to connect directly without removing the cage. This improves convenience during extended shooting and reduces the need to repeatedly plug and unplug cables.
Built-in wind-noise-reducing foam on both sides helps reduce wind noise during high-speed riding and in strong wind conditions, contributing to clearer audio recording.
There is also a cutout battery access design for battery replacement without removing the frame, as well as inner silicone pads that help prevent scratches on the camera body. It is made of aluminum alloy; the cage weighs 60.0 g (2.1 oz).
