If you are in the US and you were looking at buying an XTRA Muse 2 Pro because the DJI Osmo Pocket 4 isn’t available for sale, then I have some bad news. Pre-orders have been removed in the US amid the DJI ban, as the
US government is cracking down on products and companies that they believe are using a backdoor to disguise DJI technology.
Here is what Xtra Technology is saying:
Early Bird Reservations Are Paused
After reviewing our product and launch readiness, XTRA has decided to pause the current Early Bird program. Because we are unable to confirm a reliable launch timeline at this stage, we do not believe customers’ funds should remain on hold.
We will therefore issue a full refund of the amount paid for every eligible, unrefunded Early Bird order to the original payment method. No action is required from customers. Once processed, refunds may take approximately 5–10 business days to appear, depending on the payment provider or financial institution.
We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused by the pause of the Early Bird program. As a token of our appreciation for your understanding and early support, each eligible customer will also receive a single-use 10% courtesy discount code. The code will be valid for 30 days from issuance and may be used toward eligible products currently available on the official XTRA Store. The 10% courtesy discount code will be issued within 1–2 business days after the eligible Early Bird order has been cancelled. Customers will receive the code in a separate email.
Following the refund, the original $60 launch coupon and Priority Express Shipping benefit associated with the Early Bird program will no longer be issued.

DJI and some other foreign-made drones were placed on the FCC Covered List back in December 2025. While this initially affected drones, it has since carried over to certain other DJI products, including the Osmo Pocket 4P. Back in March, the FCC expanded its investigations into companies such as XTRA, claiming that some of their products contain the same technology that has been banned from sale in the US.
This came after the website, The Verge, published an article in 2025 alleging that XTRA sold exact hardware copies of certain communications and video surveillance equipment listed in Section 1709 of the FY25 NDAA—equipment that would become covered communications equipment in December when the Commission updated the Covered List.30 The story
also alleged that code from this now-covered equipment was copied and pasted into XTRA devices.
The Bureau then opened an investigation and issued an LOI to XTRA on March 30, 2026. The LOI stated the Bureau was investigating potential violations of 47 U.S.C. § 302a (“Devices which interfere with radio reception”) and 47 CFR parts 1 and 2 (“Practice and Procedure” and “Frequency allocations and radio treaty matters; General rules and regulations”) and requested information to determine whether XTRA’s equipment was disguised covered equipment. Specifically, the LOI stated that the Bureau was investigating “whether certain RF equipment marketed by XTRA share characteristics with models” of devices listed in Section 1709.”
On July 10th, the FCC proposed a penalty of $25,000 USD against XTRA Technology.
