MK-V Level

The MK-V Level is an interesting solution that works on any Steadicam as well as in Handheld mode for keeping the horizon Level. It uses the stabilization technology from the AR Omega, and it was designed to feel as though it is not there at all. The Level was first shown as a prototype solution back in 2025.

The Level is claimed to be very strong, and it does not need tuning. It works with at least 6 full degrees of movement on each side (12 degrees in total). After that, it will go Dutch, then pick up smoothly when back in range.

The arc that the Level uses is very close to the camera’s centre of lens height, so there are no big sideways weight shifts.

Pricing & Availability

The last I heard, the Level was priced at $7,777 USD, and it comes with a power cable for a Sled and also a D-Tap 12V. You need to contact the company directly for ordering or more information.

Louis Puli S.O.C will have the Level at a Sydney Steadicam workshop in September. If any ops want to test it out, they can drop by ARRI in Sydney on the 4th of September.
