New firmware is now available for the Canon EOS C400, EOS C80, and EOS C50. This update introduces new workflow enhancements, including USB-C camera control, improved level indicator visibility, SRT auto-reconnection, and more.
The new firmware update allows the USB-C connection to pass control data between the camera and an externally connected device like a laptop, master control unit, or specific third-party controllers. Control is now possible over Recording trigger, Autofocus Controls, Manual Focus Adjustment, and Exposure settings. You will need to check with your specific device manufacturer, like Atomos, as to whether their product currently supports the use of this control data.
