Bit Part bitbox expansion is part of an upcoming Bit Part development platform: bit.ctrl, the new controller app for Sony VENICE and VENICE 2; the range-maximizing bitbox max; and the ultra-light bitbox mini-c.
- bitbox expansion piggybacks on bitbox, introducing open-source extendability to Bit Part’s flagship camera control radios. Drive LBUS-based motors. Bridge devices over Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. Build precisely what you need. All in a compact package with Bit Part’s component quality and industrial design. Expected to ship by the end of the year, pending regulatory approval.
- bit.ctrl arrives in the App Store for macOS and iPadOS, giving Sony VENICE users a camera control interface they’ll love. Faster and more reliable, the native app raises the bar, with a mere fraction of the bandwidth required and support for multi-camera automation.
- bitbox max delivers extreme range for digital imaging technicians, with four times the RF output (up to 1 W) to punch through walls, through vehicles, and through the most congested RF environments on Earth. bitbox max delivers late summer 2026. A $500 USD trade-up credit is available now through June 30 at shop.bitpart.com.
- bitbox mini-c takes the world’s smallest wireless camera controller and makes it even simpler: USB-C in, everything works. Shipping expected late summer 2026.
bitbox expansion
bitbox was always designed from the ground up for expandability. bitbox expansion makes it official. The forthcoming development platform piggybacks on the original bitbox and upcoming bitbox max, unlocking a huge range of new features: Bluetooth bridge, Wi-Fi bridge, and CAN bridge will be available at release time, followed by more advanced serial workflows, an open-source firmware, and a bitbox expansion Claude Skill.
Users will be able to develop anything they wish from Day 1. The hardware also features extra Ethernet ports, GPIO pins for custom connections, and a user-programmable RGBW LED.
bitbox expansion will retail at $799 USD as a kit, including an enclosure expansion for bitbox, and is expected to ship at the end of the year.
bit.ctrl
Fresh off its public beta release at NAB 2026, bit.ctrl for Sony VENICE and VENICE 2 is live now in the App Store. The native app for macOS and iPadOS delivers faster and more reliable camera control, using a mere fraction of the bandwidth with support for multi-camera automation.
bit.ctrl starts at $229 USD annually, or $99 USD for existing bitbox owners. Short-term licenses are also available.
bitbox max & bitbox mini-c
bitbox max takes the original bitbox’s profound range even further. Designed with digital imaging technicians in mind, bitbox max quadruples the RF output power, from 0.25 W to up to 1 W, in a machined aluminum enclosure weighing under 100g.
Where the standard bitbox excels in environments too challenging for WiFi, bitbox max defies limits: reliably piercing signal through walls, vehicles, sprawling studio complexes, and on exterior locations when distances are extreme.
\bitbox max retails at $1,599 USD and delivers late summer 2026 (pending regulatory approval).
The bitbox mini-c replaces the original mini’s Ethernet port with a USB-C port, integrated Ethernet chipset included. Many cameras can power the
device directly from their data port, one cable, no adapters.
Since bitbox mini-c can function as a base station, it unlocks an affordable two-camera system for focus pullers, with power passthrough to keep your phone or iPad topped up all day long.
bitbox mini-c will retail at $649 USD and ships late summer (pending regulatory approval).
Both products, bitbox max and bitbox mini-c, can be reserved now at bitpart.com. They’re built on the bitbox platform: zero-configuration, transparent Ethernet bridging; push-button pairing; sub-five-second boot; no internal batteries; no subscriptions; and compatibility with ARRI, RED, Sony, SmallHD, Phantom, Semote, CyanView, and any IP-based control system.
The Bit Part lineup is on display at Cine Gear 2026 (Booth 28).
