I have been shooting vertical much more lately, and having a dedicated L plate makes it so much easier. MID49 has announced their version, and it’s not your ordinary aluminum “L.”
The L of Steel is a stainless steel vertical camera mounting bracket that is peppered with several 1/4-20 and 3/8-16 threaded holes for attaching to tripod plates, car rigging, or whatever else your production requires. It also works well with the MID49’s new Bolt on Dovetails (8 & 12″)
Most plates are made of aluminum, but MID49 chose stainless steel construction, providing rock-solid vertical camera mounting with no flex. It can handle a fifty-pound rig easily without flexing.
Screw slots are also available on both sides for attaching ARRI standard dovetails and cameras using the included 1/4-20 and 3/8-16 screws.
Pass through 1/4 and 3/8 inch holes are also present on both ends.
Works great with our 2060 Dovetails, Bolt-On Dovetails, and Baseline Dovetails.
