Bright Tangerine has posted up a nice explainer video showcasing how you can mount a monitor in multiple different ways.
Kyle from Bright Tangerine takes you through various methods for rigging a monitor onto a camera setup, specifically using the RED Komodo X and an Atomos monitor, although these same solutions would work on just about any camera. Kyle demonstrates how to achieve optimal positioning, balance, and functionality.
Universal Monitor Mounts– These mounts offer adjustable tension on the pan and tilt axes, with tactile feedback at 90-degree increments. They can be attached via a cold shoe or a 3/8″ anti-twist thread.
Rod Mounted Systems– By using a rod bracket, the monitor can be mounted closer to the lens to lower the camera’s center of gravity and improve balance, especially when using a gimbal.
Universal Monitor Hinge– Attached to a NATO rail, this hinge allows for 360-degree rotation, enabling low, overhead, or front-facing monitoring, and allows the rig to be folded compactly for storage.
Titan Arm 2– Ideal for ACs or directors, this articulating arm allows the monitor to be positioned freely and can also support other accessories like teleprompters, lights, or microphones.
