Teradek CTRL.5 Firmware 2.2

Teradek has announced CTRL.5 Firmware 2.2, which adds new features such as Sony Camera Control (requires a separate license), Full Camera Control Web UI for RED and Sony VENICE, Ethernet Support, and Searchable Lens Maps.

Key features of the new firmware include:

  • Sony Camera Control– Users can now connect their CTRL.5 to compatible Sony cameras like the VENICE, BURANO, and FX6 to enable control of ISO, shutter, and frame rate. Please note that this feature requires a separate license
  • Full Camera Control Web UI for RED and Sony Venice– The CTRL.5 touchscreen now provides full access to the camera’s entire menu, eliminating the need for a laptop or iPad. This also includes low-latency video for RED cameras.
  • Ethernet Support– The CTRL.5 now supports Ethernet connections using a Small HD 5-pin to Ethernet adapter, allowing for wired control or extended wireless range.
  • Searchable Lens Maps– Users can now quickly search lens maps by name, manufacturer, or focal length.

The firmware also includes quality-of-life upgrades and under-the-hood improvements.
