PDMOVIE has teased SMART FUSION, which will be a new member of the LIVE AIR 4 SMART family. It is native Sony E-Mount Smart Adapter that is compatible with most Sony Alpha and FX series cameras.
It directly drives the LIVE AIR 4 SMART motor using the camera sensors native phase detection data. What makes this interesting is that you switch between utilizing the camera’s native AF sensor information and the high-speed LiDAR hybrid autofocus from the LIVE AIR 4 SMART.
SMART FUSION works with with manual focus E-mount lenses and E-to-PL adapter solutions. There are no cables as the SMART FUSION adapter talks directly to the LIVE AIR 4 SMART motor wirelessly.
There will be full support for wireless and wired communication, with full compatibility with native camera autofocus features such as Real-time Recognition, Real-time Eye AF, Touch Tracking, etc.
The adapter will allow for one-button switching between native camera autofocus, LiDAR autofocus, and manual focus control.
This looks to be a very clever product as users can choose between the cameras native AF system and LiDAR.
