Nikon has announced its new NIKKOR Z 24-105mm f/4-7.1 standard zoom lens for Nikon FX-format /full-frame mirrorless cameras. This lens covers a 24-105mm wide-angle to medium-telephoto focal range, and it was designed to be lightweight and to appeal to casual users as well as entry level Z mount camnera owners.
The NIKKOR Z 24-105mm f/4-7.1 weighs just 350 g / 12.4 oz. The low weight and compact size certainly come at the sacrifice of speed. F4 is at 24mm, and once you hit 105mm, it is F7.1. Nikon doesn’t state at what focal lengths the F-stop starts to change.
It features a minimum focus distance of just 0.2 m / 7.9 in. at the wide-angle end and 0.28 m / 11 in. at the telephoto end.

The new zoom lens pairs well with cameras such as the Z5II, and it will be available as a kit lens option starting this northern hemisphere winter.

The NIKKOR Z 24-105mm f/4-7.1 lens will be available in mid January 2026 for $549.95 USD. The new lens will also be available as part of a kit with the Nikon Z5II for $2,199.95 USD.
