Blazar Beetle 1.33X Anamorphic Lenses now available to pre-order

The Blazar Beetle 1.33X Anamorphic Lenses are now available to pre-order. Blazar showed a prototype of the 45mm T3.2 Beetle 1.33X anamorphic lenses way back at NAB in April.

The three focal lengths available are the 32mm, 45mm, and 65mm. The lenses are available in Sony E, Leica L, Canon RF, and Nikon Z Mount. The lenses have a fixed T3.2 aperture and a 55mm front filter thread. They are all under 290g 0.6 lb, so they would work well on a gimbal or when you want a very lightweight setup.

The Beetle lenses have the unique ability of being able to be used in both horizontal and vertical configurations. By pressing a button on the lens, the whole barrel can rotate 90 degrees. This allows you to have the same streak direction no matter the orientation of the camera.

They cover a 36 x 24mm image circle.

Blazar states that by utilizing its innovative technology, the Beetle 1.33x anamorphic lens has a look that more closely resembles an anamorphic lens that has a 1.5x squeeze.

Even though the lenses are primarily targeted at photographers, they would also be suitable for shooting video on mirrorless hybrids such as the Sony FX2, Canon EOS C50, Nikon ZR, etc.
