Iron Glass Soviet Medium Format Lenses First Look at Cine Gear 2025

At Cine Gear 2025 in Los Angeles, Iron Glass was showcasing its newest Soviet Medium Format Lenses. Originally designed for 6×6 film, these lenses are reborn with modern enhancements.

The set was designed to bring a unique, vintage look to modern filmmaking. They are claimed to deliver timeless bokeh, gorgeous depth, and vintage character.

With the advent of medium format / 65mm sensor cameras such as the Fuji GFX 100 II, FUJIFILM Eterna, Blackmagic Ursa Cine 17K, and ARRI Alexa 265, there is a real need for lenses that can fully cover those sensors.

The Soviet Medium Format collection follows the success of the company’s acclaimed Soviet MKII Full Frame set and brings legendary Soviet medium format optics into the modern era.
