Hawk-Woods has introduced its new G-Lok Mini Gold Mount batteries at Cine Gear 2025 in Los Angeles.
It has been more than a decade since Hawk-Woods unveiled its Mini V-Lok batteries, which, if I am not mistaken, were the first ever mini-sized V-mount batteries. As Hawk-Woods has primarily been focused on markets in the UK and Europe, where V-mount is the popular option, they haven’t made any Gold Mount batteries, that was until now.
Hawk-Woods designed these new batteries with cinematographers in mind, and they will be available in 14.4V and 26V versions. To begin with, they will have a 98Wh and a 150Wh version.
Hawk-Woods has put their usual touch on things, and they have added four pins to the Gold Mount. A standard Gold Mount usually has just 2 pins, but that creates a bottleneck as all the amps have to come from just those two pins. With 4 pins, it helps with better heat dissipation.
Pricing & Availability
The 26V 98Wh versions will retail for about $314 USD each, and the 150Wh version will be just over $400 USD. Hawk-Woods will be running a promotion where, if you buy two batteries, you will get a free 2-channel charger.
