Batch Color Quality Mattes 1.0 & Batch Depth Maps 1.0

08

Batch has announced the limited release of Batch Color Quality Mattes 1.0 and Batch Depth Maps 1.0. These are claimed to be breakthrough tools that revolutionize rotoscoping and post-production for filmmakers and colorists.

By harnessing Batch’s proprietary machine learning technology, Batch rapidly generates precise mattes by automatically pre-processing people and depth maps across entire films, reducing what traditionally took weeks or months of rotoscoping into just a few hours. It allows rapid adjustments to the tone and visual identity of a film through precise control of color, contrast, and lighting. Previously, this would have required roto for a colorist to achieve such detail.

In this initial phase, Batch Color Quality Mattes 1.0 and Batch Depth Maps 1.0 will be available for long-form TV, feature film and feature documentary projects. This allows Batch to collaborate closely with experienced professionals, fine-tune performance across diverse workflows, and ensure the highest quality standards.

Later this year, Batch will introduce Batch VFX Quality Mattes, delivering high-resolution, VFX-ready mattes to artists and studios across commercial, indie, and large-scale cinematic projects.
