FUJIFILM has announced the development of the Fujifilm Projector ZUH6000 (FP-ZUH6000), an ultra-short-throw projector capable of projecting 4K images. It is equipped with the industry’s only folded two-axial rotatable lens. The FP-ZUH6000 is scheduled for release in June 2025.

The folded two-axial rotatable lens can be rotated 90 degrees around the mounting axis and 360 degrees around the lens axis. By allowing projection in various directions without repositioning the main unit, users can display images on walls, screens, ceilings, and floors. Its flexible installation options enable users to select the best method for their specific environment, making it possible to utilize previously unused spaces and create a more dramatic atmosphere. Users can also conceal the projector body, leaving only the lens exposed, to create a more immersive space. The 1.1x optical zoom mechanism allows for easy adjustment of the image size.

The FP-ZUH6000 is capable of projecting 4K images thanks to the DLP chip installed in the image processing unit. Additionally, according to FUJIFILM, by enhancing their unique optical engine, the FP-ZUH6000 achieves color reproduction that is approximately 1.5 times better than that of the current model, as well as smoother gradation. The folded two-axial rotatable lens enables multi-directional image projection by rotating the lens, making it possible to project large screen images from very short distances.

Projectors are being used more and more for spatial design in commercial facilities, art galleries, museums, and other venues. There is now a rapidly growing need to create immersive spaces by arranging multiple projectors in a single space and combining them to project 360-degree images. In spatial design using multiple projectors, there is a need for higher image quality in the projected images as well as for greater efficiency in image adjustment.

The newly developed FP-ZUH6000 is the first projector in the Z Series to support 4K projection.

In addition to providing vivid images with a brightness of 6000lm using the latest laser light source technology, it has also been designed to be lightweight (approx. 17.5kg) and compact (486mm wide, 496mm deep, 175mm high). It also comes with a lens shift function that is claimed to offer the highest level of performance in its class, with 82% vertical and 35% horizontal shift. This allows the position of the projected image to be moved over a wide area without changing the position of the projector itself or the direction of the lens, contributing to more efficient image adjustment work.
