The BLKBIRD Mantis is a modular camera stabilizer that recently received an Honorable Mention in the 2025 SOC Technical Achievement Awards. It was first shown at CineGear 2024 in Los Angeles.

The Mantis works with Easyrigs, the Walter Klassen SlingShot, speedrail, Ready Rigs, and more. It can float payloads between 5-40 lb / 2.26-18.1kg with a range of elastics.
You can add the Mantis to your Ready Rig for enhanced vertical isolation and extended boom range or mount one to your Easy Rig to isolate your movement and go from shoulder to waist in one smooth move. Mantis is being touted as a first-of-its-kind modular bungee camera stabilizer that’s cross-compatible with a large variety of popular camera support vests as well as speedrail for hard mounts.
The Mantis can mount to the ready rig increasing vertical stability and boom range.

Users can easily mount the Mantis to any speedrail pipe (1 1/4” or 1 1/2” with the same adapter.)
You can also pair two Mantis stabilizers together to lift up to 65 lbs. Both their speedrail and easy rig adapters provide two mounting points.
Tube Configurations
Dual Tube
The Dual tube configuration was designed to be compact while still giving you an impressive level of isolation and boom range. Use this configuration on a Ready Rig or Easy Rig.
Quad Tube
The quad tube features twice the amount of elastic pre-load as Dual tube, giving you a larger neutral zone and boom range. The quad tube is recommended for Easy Rig users and speedrail mounting.
Long Tube
BLKBIRD has an extended version of their tubes designed around the Walter Klassen Slingshot. These long tubes keep the width of the Mantis down while still offering more elastic pre-load than a standard dual tube.
Pricing & Availability

The BLKBIRD Mantis starts at $1,700 USD for the Easy Rig Bundle (Quad Tube) and goes up to $2,800 USD for the Quad Tube Delux Kit.
