Pelican has announced its new ATX & HYBRID TRVL Cases which feature a ModPak Storage System. Pelican is synonymous with hard cases, but they are now expanding their product range with a range of new products that include backpacks, duffels, suitcases, and slings.
These products fall under the brand’s new ATX TRVL line (which stands for Adventure Travel X-Over) and the HYBRID TRVL line’s AEGIS series (a Greek word associated with protection and support).
ATX TRVL suitcases

The ATX TRVL suitcases are claimed to be an evolution of their hard cases, as they are also waterproof, dustproof, and crushproof. The suitcases use a proprietary HPX polymer resin, and Hinomoto Multi-Directional 360° Spinner Wheels. The ATX TRVL case comes in multiple colors and size options, and they allow you to carry up to 90L of gear.
Key features
- Legendary Pelican protection designed for the adventurous traveler who demands ultimate protection and convenience
- Smooth-rolling, quiet, and multidirectional Hinomoto spinner wheels
- Robust multistage extension handle
- Premium interior liner made of 420D recycled ripstop poly
- Multiple easy-to-grab soft close handles
They range in weight from 12.1 to 20.5 lb, which does put them on the heavy side, but for expensive gear, they will offer very good protection.
The ATX TRVL suitcases range in price from $595.95 USD to $699.95 USD
HYBRID TRVL AEGIS

The HYBRID TRVL AEGIS series of bags and cases come in a large array of shapes and sizes. The Rolling Duffels have a Pelican Shield EVA Compression Molded front lid, but with softer materials on the sides and back to keep the weight down. Multiple color options are available, along with size options of 22”, 28”, and 32”. The 22″ can be used as a carry-on. They fit 50L, 90L, and 120L respectively, while still weighing substantially less than the ATX cases.
The Pelican AEGIS Series Rolling Duffel bags start at $329.95 USD.

Another remember of the AEGIS line, is the new Travel Backpacks. These come in 18L, 25L, and 45L sizes and they all weigh less than 3 lb. They feature a similar EVA compression molded front lid, 500D Cordura Fabric, a sternum strap, a padded laptop compartment, and different styles of pockets to suit various applications.
The Pelican AEGIS Series Backpacks start at $199.95 USD.

The AEGIS Sling Pack comes in small, standard, or large sizes and similar durable materials. The Pelican AEGIS Protective Cross Body Sling Bag retails for $79.95 USD.
ModPak system

One of the big selling points of these new products is their compatibility with Pelican’s new ModPak system. ModPak is a series of smaller bags, cases, pouches, and sleeves that can fit into a variety of larger Pelican products and stay in place with external and internal molle channels (strong Velcro), as well as traditional Velcro panels. They’re designed to be highly modular like TrekPak dividers but in more specific sizes based on what they hold.
Initial ModPak offerings include two sizes of AV Cases, three sizes of Packing Cubes, two sizes of Storage Pouches, and a Toiletry Bag. More ModPak variations are currently in development.
The Pelican AEGIS ModPak Packing Cube start from $14.95 USD.
