bebob’s new B480cine, is their most powerful B-Mount battery to date. It features an industry-high capacity of 475 watt-hours and a maximum load capacity of 20 amps (continuous current).

This capacity does come at a cost with the B480cine tipping the scales at 2.36kg / 5.2 lbs.

Like all of bebob’s B-Mount batteries, it features 14.4/28.8 volt dual-voltage capability. With a 450 watts continuous power output, the B480cine is a good option when using power-hungry 12V and 24V equipment on set. You could actually use this battery instead of having a large and heavy on-ground battery, especially when powering 24V accessories.

With its 475Wh, the B480cine is capable of powering an ARRI SkyPanel S30-C for two and a half hours. Two B480cine, batteries will be able to power an Aputure 600D Pro with 640W in “full output” and “boost” mode for almost one and a half hours without interruption. Now, I do need to make it clear that this mode is only possible with bebob’s B-Mount batteries, as it requires batteries with more than 360W.

The B480cine features a unique continuous output of 450W. bebob B-Mount batteries are currently the only ones on the market that deliver 20A continuous current – not only under 14.4V, but also under 28.8V nominal voltage. For a short time (several minutes), the current may even reach 23A.

The battery features a 13.2V max 2.5A twist D-tap and a USB-C 5.0V; max 1.0A output.

The B480cine now joins other batteries in the series to form a pretty comprehensive set of options.

bebob batteries may be expensive, but they do make for a good long-term investment as they are designed to be repairable and can be fitted with new cells if they no longer deliver the original performance after years of use.

The B480cine comes with the same warranty as all bebob batteries. You get two years on all mechanical and electronic components as well as on 80 percent of the original cell capacity. The bebob batteries are designed to survive a fall of 1.5m. Nevertheless, if one should crack, the modular concept allows any mechanical part to be replaced.

According to bebob, all of their batteries go through a comprehensive certification process so that they can guarantee the highest electromagnetic compatibility as well as transport and product safety.

If you are not familiar with B-mount batteries, a lot of them feature 24-volt and dual-voltage capability, smooth mechanics and universal battery communication. They are compatible with cameras, lights, and accessories from a wide range of manufacturers, the B-Mount interface also allows all equipment on set to be powered by a single battery system – bringing significant logistical benefits for camera operators and rental companies, particularly in terms of handling and storage.
