ASTERA PlutoFresnel and LeoFresnel plus Projection Lens

At Cine Gear 2023 ASTERA introduced a new line of fresnel fixtures and projection lenses for the Leo and Pluto models. Unlike traditional Fresnels, the light has a built-in battery that lasts 3 hours on the Pluto and two hours on the Leo, displaying white colors on MAX Brightness. When a longer operation is needed, you can set the Seamless Runtime setting up to 20 hours. For longer installations, PlutoFresnel can be connected to 24V DC power.

Astera states these fresnel fixtures are true rated for output. The Pluto is 80-watts which compares to a 300-watt tungsten light, and the Leo is 250 watts which compares to a 1K tungsten fixture.

PlutoFresnel

PlutoFresnel boasts an output comparable to a traditional 300W Tungsten Fresnel. With a beam angle of 15° to 60° without color fringing, and wireless and wired DMX control, these lights offer impressive performance while consuming only 80W. Easy to mount and adjust with removable handles and YokeBases.

The Fresnel lens works in conjunction with a light pipe that is built into the fixture. It creates an even beam with steep fall-off and no chromatic aberration or color fringing. The manual zoom ranges from 15° – 60° and allows it to operate as spotlight, washlight, and anything in between.

A cool feature of both lights is the relocatable yoke position and handle. This gives the light better balance when adding accessories to the front of the light.

With a beam angle of 15° to 60° without color fringing, and wireless and wired DMX control, these lights offer impressive performance while consuming only 250 W. Easy to mount and adjust with removable handles and YokeBases.
