The Full pack is based on Angénieux’s IRO (Interchangeable Rear Optics) technology and it includes both a Full Frame and a U35 rear that can be user-changed so that the Optimo Ultra 37-102mm and 21-56 lenses can be used on FF/VV sensor cameras or to cover the Open Gate of the new ARRI ALEXA 35. When equipped in U35 (Open Gate) these lenses respectively become a 28-76 T2.2 and a 16-42 T2.2.
This new generation of high-end lenses was designed for the FF/VV format and Open Gate. Both these lenses are among the lightest on the market and they are a nice complement to the Optimo Ultra 12X and the Optimo Prime Series. Angénieux claims that the image quality is consistent across the aperture range and at every focal length and focus distance. The iris is also capable of closing completely.
The 37-102 & the 21-56 are the direct descendants of the iconic and Academy-awarded Optimo 15-40 and 28-76 lenses, which have been very popular with cinematographers for more than 15 years.
The FULL PACK version of the Optimo Ultra Compact 37-102 and the brand new Optimo Ultra Compact 21-56 will be presented for the first time during the Angénieux workshop at Camerimage on November 17, from 1:00pm to 5:00pm, Camerimage Workshop Center, at the gym of High School n°10 • Liceum Ogólnokształcące n°10 • Toruń.
