Tiffen has introduced a new 39mm filter size in direct response to the growing number of lenses being realeased by rom Leica and Fujifilm that have a 39mm lens front.
The first filter to be made available in 39mm is the Black Pro-Mist. It is offered in strengths of 1/8, 1/4, 1/2, 1, and 2, and they will retail for $65.00 USD.
Also available is a round 39mm UV Protector filter that retails for $10.99 USD and a Circular Polarizer that costs $20.00 USD. Most Tiffen filter varieties can be made to order upon request if you specifically want a 39mm filter.
I personally prefer to use step-up rings so that I can have one filter that I can then adapt to lenses with different-sized filter threads. In saying that, filters with small-sized filter threads are usually pretty affordable, compare to their larger counterparts.
