SWIT BM-H245 23.8" 4K QLED Quadview Production Monitor

SWIT has announced its new BM-H245 23.8″ 4K QLED Quadview Production Monitor. I always find it a little strange when companies call monitors 4K when they are only 1080p displays.

The BM-H245 QLED panel has a Quantum Dot layer between the LCD screen and its LED backlight, which changes the LED spectrum to reduce blue and balance the R/G/B peak, which is claimed to stimulate people’s cone cells evenly, and reducing visual fatigue effectively. It scored a 1.97 on the VICO (Visual Health and Comfort) A class, which means it will help to protect your eyes from long-time video editing or broadcast studio productions.

The BM-H245 supports HLG (Hybrid Log Gamma), Dolby Vision PQ, SONY S-Log3 HDR, and Gamma 1.0/1.8/2.2/2.4/2.6 SDR EOTFs, and Color Gamut selection from LCD native, REC.709, DCI-P3 and REC.2020.

There is also the ability to do Multi CG & EOTF viewing as the monitor supports 1 input source that can be copied to 4 windows all while displaying different HDR/SDR and color gamuts simultaneously. This allows users to get a correct reference when producing HDR and SDR together.

With built-in 3DLUT calibration software, the monitor supports X-rite i1 and Jeti Specbos 1211 probes that you can use to directly connect to the monitor’s USB port. The monitor generates color patterns and the color probes read the color and then send color info to the monitor via USB. The monitor then compares the color difference and generates a 3DLUT and calibrates itself automatically.
