Hollyland has announced the COSMO C1 1,000FT Wireless SDI/HDMI Transmission System.
The C1 is the latest addition to the COSMO series, and it is using Hollyland’s HEVO wireless transmission technology. The key selling point for the COSMO C1 is that it is the industry’s first wireless video system to integrate a UVC (USB Video Capture) interface. This allows the COSMO C1 to offer a simplified solution for streaming and cloud-sharing video.
According to Hollyland, the COSMO C1 offers real-time video monitoring up to 1,000ft line-of-sight. It also incorporates boosted signal strength, better anti-interference capability in the 5.1GHz-5.8GHz frequency spectrum.
COSMO C1 Key features
- 1,000′ / 304.8m range
- USB-C Embedded Video Capture
- No Flickering, No Black Screen
- Channel Switching
- Low Latency
USB-C Embedded Video Capture
Hollyland has integrated UVC (USB Video Capture) into the COSMO C1. You can use one USB-C cable to send up to 1080P60 HD video straight to your computer for direct live streaming. You don’t need to use any type of video capture device as the input will be recognized by your computer as a webcam source.
No Flickering, No Black Screen
Hollyland’s HEVO wireless technology utilizes adaptive frequency hopping (AFH) that is claimed to offer reliability and boosted signal strength with less interference. This is said to help eliminate screen flickerings, screen pauses, and black screens when you are using the system.
The COSMO C1 uses synchronous frequency hopping at a speed of 0.001s at both the receiving and transmitting sides. You can use either a manual or the auto-switching mode depending on your needs.
According to Holyland, the COSMO C1 has already completed thousands of channel switching tests in the hands of beta testers.
The acceleration module that is embedded in COSMO C1 is claimed to provide an ultra-low latency as low as 40ms. This latency is said to be maintained throughout the 1,000ft line of sight range.
40ms is pretty low, and it should be acceptable for most users.
HDMI & SDI In/Out + SDI Loop out
The COSMO C1 has HDMI & SDI connections on both the TX and RX units. There is also an SDI loop-out on the TX.
The COSMO C1 can be powered in three different ways:
- DC Power
- Sony NP-F-series Battery
A red light comes on when the battery has 20 minutes of usage remaining.
There is a cold shoe mounting design on the front of the RX and TX units which allows you to place them horizontally, which is handy for weight distribution if you are running wireless on a gimbal. Both units also feature a single 1/4″-20 threaded hole.
Price & Availability
The Hollyland COSMO C1 is now available to purchase and retails for $899 USD.
