SEE Billy– AI-powered Camera Robot

Polish start-up SEE has announced Billy, an AI-powered Camera Robot. Billy the robot is claimed to be able to follow your moves with a camera and stream video directly to Instagram, Tik-Tok, YouTube, etc.

AI powered camera robots are nothing new. Billy is designed primarily for people who need to film themselves while they are demonstrating something or performing.

Billy can actually move around by itself and track a subject. The only trouble is that Billy isn’t very tall and if you put it on the ground, every shot is going to be looking up at your subject. You could place it on a table to make it higher, but I am not sure if it has any auto safety features where it can tell whether it is near the edge of the table.

Billy can be controlled via an iOS and Android app. This is where you can also set it to stream video to various social media platforms.

Billy will be available in two versions, Billy and Billy Pro. Billy is designed for regular use with smartphones, while Billy Pro allows you to use DSLR and Mirrorless Cameras.

Both the Billy and Billy Pro feature a built-in 48Wh battery. SEE claims that the operating time is up 10 hours.

How much will they cost?

Billy will be originally available from €329, Billy Pro starts at €761. Please note that these are early bird Kickstarter prices. The retail prices will eventually be €659 for Billy and €1269 for Billy Pro.

This is quite a lot of money for something that is being targeted at Vloggers and people doing Tik-Tok.

Above you can see the deals that will initially be available on Kickstarter.

Please keep in mind that crowdfunding is never guaranteed to work and you are essentially putting your trust and hard-earned money in someone else’s hands. Just because a project gets funded doesn’t necessarily mean you will ever get the product you paid for. Newsshooter always recommends that you think long and hard before giving money to any crowdfunding platform.
