Astera has announced its new AX2 PixelBar. The Wireless PixelBar is a linear wash fixture with a built-in battery pack. Each of its LEDs can be individually addressed and Astera claims it offers ultra-high color rendering, digital color calibration, and a native 21° beam.
The PixelBar will be available in 1m (16 x 10W LEDs) and 50cm (8 x 10W LEDs) versions.
The AX2 PixelBar features smart stands, a hanging bracket, connectable endcaps, and an integrated airline track. This allows it to be quickly assembled in numerous ways and makes it suitable for a wide variety of applications such as concert/touring, corporate events, TV and film sets, etc.
The BarConnect+ system allows you to connect multiple AX2 units together to create larger lighting arrays.
As the AX2 PixelBar is part of the large Astera system you can control it via. Infrared remote, wireless DMX, or an app.
The AX2 PixelBar has the following features:
Talkback+
Detects all available lights, and lets you set them up, check their status, and configure DMX addresses and DMX profiles.
Seamless Runtime
You can set them to run for the length of your production so that your lights won’t run out while still getting the maximum brightness.
TruColor Calibration
According to Astera, individually calibrated lights lead to 100% color consistency and exact color reproduction of color temperature and filter gels.
Effects
You can quickly build programs out of colors and effects, trigger them or make them match a beat.
Flicker Free
According to Astera, Scrambled PWM technology is used to avoid flickering when filming.
Green/Magenta Correction
You can adjust green/magenta.
Scheduled StandBy
You can switch lights into power-saving standby and schedule them to wake up when the production starts.
Dynamic PowerBoost
This feature gives the light the ability to display the maximum brightness at all times and intensify non-white colors.
Emergency Lights
The PixelBar will switch to white light when AC power is cut.
Anti-Theft
The lights give a visual and audible alarm and send notification to the AsteraApp if they are being moved during an event.
DJ Feature
Auto BPM analyzes the beat and matches programs to it, flash buttons can trigger special effects while being held down.
Other Features
The AsteraApp is packed with many additional items and new features are frequently added via software updates.
